| Agency Description: |
White Earth Mental Health Program is designed to meet the mental health
needs of White Earth Tribal Members and their families who reside on or
near the Reservation. The White Earth Mental Health Program provides
a comprehensive plan for counseling, education, and support. |
| Description of Field Activities |
Cases involving difficult systems in assessing
and identifying interventions with clients. The student will work
closely with connecting counties and White Earth Indian Child Welfare. The
student will have opportunity to review and look over the referral process
during which cases will be assigned. The student will participate
in team agency meetings weekly and will have the opportunity to sit in
on the American Indian State Advisory Council meetings. The student
will participate in program evaluations, needs assessments, and grant
writing opportunities as they arise. The student will have an opportunity
to complete research on a girl’s anger management group and post
those findings in a renewal of a grant. The student will continue
to self-reflect and include feedback from both direct practice and MSW
supervisor daily. The student may have an opportunity to provide
cultural training to his/her knowledge and skill level. |
