The Northeast Minnesota is a regional unit of government and a Minnesota WorkForce Center partner specializing in providing personalized workforce development services. This agency serves low-income youth (14+) and adults in need of skills training and resources to secure self-sufficient employment.  The agency also provides assistance for workers who have been dislocated from employment due to lay-offs, company closures or downsizing. 

The opportunities available to students include providing information and referrals to the general public to resources and/or areas of service; assisting job seekers with basic computer skills and computer lab tasks such as completing on-line applications, resumes and basic Microsoft word questions; conducting basic intake: screen and identify individuals for appropriate agency programs – in person and over the phone; conducting basic intake from walk-in clients to determine job seeking needs; proofreading and providing advisement with job seeking communications; performing interviews, assessing interests and abilities, providing access to employment and training programs and monitoring progress; and administering testing – math, ready, personality, interests, career assessments.
