AICHO's mission statement is as follows: “Honoring the resiliency of Native American people, AICHO’s vision is to strengthen our communities by centering indigenous values in all aspects of our work.” AICHO, through their domestic violence shelter and transitional housing programs, serves primarily Native American women (and their children) who have been battered, sexually assaulted, and/or who are facing homelessness. The homeless outreach project, the Giiwe Mobile Team, serves long-term homeless households (individuals, families, and unaccompanied youth).

| Description of Field Activities |
Students will be exposed to social work and advocacy based practice on micro, mezzo, and macro levels while at AICHO. More details are outlined in the AICHO Agency Application for the Field Program.
