How online courses work
Each online course uses Moodle. Moodle is a course management system used to deliver web-based learning environments. You will need to configure your computer’s browser for Moodle.. All online psychology courses use Moodle, so it is imperative that you learn about Moodle and configure your computer’s browser properly. Learn more about Moodle by visiting these sites:

While a virtual structure is provided within each course, at their simplest level these online individual instruction courses are independent study courses. Thus, a great deal of self-motivation and self-discipline is required for success. We strongly encourage you to:
- Set up a weekly schedule to help complete your course
- Practice good time management
- Meet required course deadlines
Once you register for a course, and the semester has started, you will need to log into the course by typing your "username" and "password" into the MyUMD Portal: http://myu.umn.edu
