Friday, March 23rd "515-The Tour" The Tour" is a theatrical presentation of 515 laws in Minnesota that discriminate against same-sex couples. 60 minutes, free and open to the public. 515 - The Tour is a show that brings a serious message to people who otherwise may never hear about it.

Tuesday, April 3 at 5:00-6:00 in ABAH 245 Dr. Peter Blackmer will present his current research in a colloquium. While this is a great opportunity for the students, it would also be a tremendous opportunity for faculty to see what Dr. Blackmer does with his area of specialization. Here's the title:"Working Men’s Measures: Vermont Mechanics' Culture and the Constructions of Wage-Earning Masculinity in the Age of Jackson, 1815 – 1850"

Wednesday, October 10th: Hate Crimes Vigil, 6pm, Multimedia Room (just outside the Multicultural Center, 2nd Floor Kirby).

The Hate Crimes Vigil began in 1998 in response to the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student in Laramie, Wyoming. We gather to raise awareness of hate crimes, and remember all victims of hate crimes.

This is the 12th annaul "Fall Drag Show" ...the tradition began in Spring 2001 growing to a fall and spring drag show each year.

November 2012

Tuesday, November 6th: Vote "No" Day.

Vote no, so the state of MN does not amend the state constitution to further discriminate against same-sex couples. By voting no, you can help MN become the first state in the nation to ever defeat such a amendment at the ballot box. Putting the majority in a place to vote on the rights of a minority is simply wrong. Speak up, speak out, speak loud and proud! Most of all...vote no.
