Open yourself up to the possibilities of what one gift can do. Because in this case, it does twice the work.

With the Reaching Higher Scholarship Initiative, UMD is embarking upon an effort to provide scholarships to deserving students. Additionally, UMD will match the payout of endowed schoarships created from charitable gifts dollar for dollar. This doubles the impact of your generosity upon the student.

Scholarships awarded to deserving students acknowledge their hard work and effort, and they encourage continued academic success. This scholarship initiative will benefit current and future UMD students, as well as the academic standing of the University.

Endowed scholarships are created by donors like you. Gifts may be designated for a specific college or department, including athletics. Gifts can be made by individuals or groups and may be pledged over five years. Employer matching gifts can also be used.

UNRESTRICTED GIVING TO UMD

The Excellence Fund is the only “unrestricted” gift fund at UMD, supporting various lecture series, campus-wide scholarships, and areas where the need is greatest. Those of you who enjoy supporting the full scope of campus life may wish to participate in the Excellence Fund.
